Candace

My love of handbags started when I began collecting one-of-a-kind antique and vintage bags fifteen years ago.  The more I collected, the more I noticed the craftsmanship, the detail and the stories behind each bag . . . my inspiration to design handbags was born! While living in New York City, I was starved for a handbag that was unusual and different from those I saw on the streets, so I decided to design a couple of bags for myself.

To me it was a simple concept; choose fantastic materials, use a classic shape, create striking details and inevitably it will be catching to the eye.  The reaction and response to those first few bags was overwhelming.  I sketched and scoured for more leathers.  It was when I found myself in a factory with sample bags all around me, that I realized  the first Candace Romeo Collection was born. 

Bio of the Handbags

I am proud to say that all Candace Romeo Handbags and Accessories are made in the United States. My production team is a group of highly skilled and spirited Artisans that I am so pleased to call my family. Each handbag is carefully made by hand. The leathers come from Italy and some from around the world.  My bags are a fusion of embossed exotic skins, hairs, colors and textures that complement each other as well as the woman that carries them. They are a symphony of styles and shapes that produces a chic, glamorous and elegant handbag.  My intentions as a designer is that the woman that carries a Candace Romeo Handbag has the freedom to express herself, inspires to be the best and is memorable to all around her.  Each bag is a vision of vogue that wants to have fun.
